Dan Bejar, in arte Destroyer sta per tornare alla release discografica con con un Ep decisamente particolare. Nel 2010 uscì “Kaputt”, album decisamente convincente e riuscito che presto sarà seguito dal primo materiale inedito dal 2010 ad oggi. Il nuovo Ep s’intitolerà “Five Spanish Songs” e per la prima volta nella carriera del cantautore presentà testi scritti e cantati interamente in lingua spagnola.
La motivazione di tale scelta la dà lo stesso Bejar: “It was 2013. The English language seemed spent, despicable, not easily singable. It felt over for English; good for business transactions, but that’s about it. The only other language I know is Spanish, and the only Spanish songs I really know are those of Sr. Chinarro, led by Antonio Luque. I’ve been a decades-long fan of how he conducted his affairs, his strange words, his melodies that have always felt so natural (this is important), his bitter songs about painting the light. Something about them, I knew I could do it…“
“Five Spanish Songs” è in uscita nei negozi il prossimo 29 novembre, ma Bejar ha deciso di rilasciare in anteprima streaming i cinque brani, disponibili di seguito tramite il player dedicato.
