Un double-disc per pirati

Nel 2006, con l'uscita del secondo film della saga "Pirates of the Caribbean", Johnny Depp aveva riunito e reclutato alcuni grandi nomi della musica mondiale come Lou Reed, Nick Cave e Bono Vox, per registrare "Rogue's Gallery", un disco di canti di mare, o ballad piratesche se vogliamo, rivisitate in chiave moderna. S

Nel 2006, con l’uscita del secondo film della saga “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Johnny Depp aveva riunito e reclutato alcuni grandi nomi della musica mondiale come Lou Reed, Nick Cave e Bono Vox, per registrare “Rogue’s Gallery”, un disco di canti di mare, o ballad piratesche se vogliamo, rivisitate in chiave moderna. Siamo ormai vicini a vedere il seguito di tale iniziativa, sempre proveniente dalla mente e mani di Johnny Depp, e sempre stracolma di grandi nomi della musica chiamati a raccolta per l’occasione.

S’intitolerà Son of a Rogue’s Gallery: Pirates Ballads, Sea songs & Chanteys, sarà composto da due dischi e tra i tanti partecipanti alla propria scaletta vede Keith Richards (già presente in nella saga cinematografica), Nick Cave ed il cantante dei R.E.M. Michael Stipe. Indubbiamente l’iniziativa è interessante, seppur ben calibrata da una politica pubblicitaria un po’ dubbia, visto l’avvicinarsi delle feste natalizie. In ogni caso potrebbe essere un regalo alternativo proporre a qualche amico un bel disco ricolmo di Yo-ho-ho, è stato proprio Louis Stevenson a insegnarci i versi più famosi:

« Quindici uomini sulla cassa del morto, yo-ho-ho! E una bottiglia di rum! Il vino e il diavolo hanno fatto il resto, yo-ho-ho! E una bottiglia di rum! »
